Hays Woman Gets 22 Years for Child Sex Abuse, Child Porn

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – On Wednesday, Geneva Nadeau of Hays was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison and to 15 years of supervised release after being convicted for sexually abusing and photographing a child.

Court documents say Nadeau, 38, pleaded guilty earlier to aggravated sexual abuse.

Prosecutors say that in October 2015 in Hays on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, Nadeau sexually abused a child under the age of 12 and photographed the abuse.

Nadeau was indicted after the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office got a tip that Nadeau had an email address that contained child pornography. Nadeau was arrested on unrelated charges and law enforcement discovered she also had child porn images on her tablet, including the sex abuse of the child.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Weldon prosecuted the case, which was investigated by the FBI, Fort Belknap Police Department ad the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office.
